Helly Hansen Technology
Technology Layering System Product Feature Footwear Technology All Technologies
All Technologies
1 - Base Layer

LIFA®:
A versatile performance base layer using Stay Dry Technology. LIFA® functions as
a second skin to keep you dry and maintain a stable body temperature.
LIFA® comes in Versa, Versa Coolgrid™, Sport and Prowool.

LIFA®Versa:
The ultimate Active Single Layer for high-energy sports. Versa has a bi-component
knit to provide rapid moisture transport in one layer.

LIFA®Sport:
High-energy base layer, offering exceptional moisture control. Used for all sports,
year round, LIFA Sport is our most popular high performance layer.

LIFA® Prowool:
Thermal base layer for cold weather conditions. Prowool combines LIFA Technologies
with merino wool, providing both efficient moisture transfer and warmth.

LIFA® Versa Coolgrid™
Coolgrid ™ technology utilizes LIFA® Versa's superior moisture movement properties
in a grid structure allowing maximum airflow between your skin and the fabric.

LIFA® Inside:
Products with LIFA-Inside utilize LIFA technology where it’s needed most. For example,
when used in surf trunks, LIFA might be used as a waistband and on a sock hats, an
interior headband. This smart placement of LIFA ensures that moisture is quickly
transported from the skin for increased comfort at all times.

2 - Thermal Layer

Prostretch:
Prostretch is a low pile stretch micro fleece that is ideal for highly active athletes
in cool and cold weather conditions. Prostretch offers exceptional mobility and easy
layering, making it perfect for use as a low-bulk thermal in a three-layer dressing system.

Profleece:
Profleece is a mid-loft fleece that offers a balance of thermal insulation and breathability
making it perfect for athletes that need a low-bulk thermal for their three-layer dressing
system. Profleece will not pack down or pill even after repeated washing or years of wear.

3XDRY:
This highly breathable material transports moisture quickly from the interior of the fabric
to the exterior where it can evaporate.

Dri-release:
Made from a patented micro-blend yarn comprised of special polyester with a trace of cotton, dri-release combines the best qualities of natural and synthetic fibres – it wicks moisture away from the skin yet is soft to the touch.

3 – Protective Layer

Helly Tech®:
Designed for all-season use and most conditions, Helly Tech@ set the standard for waterproof breathable outerwear technology.

Helly Tech®XP:
Our heavy-duty version of Helly Tech® for cold and wet conditions, Helly Tech®XP provides double the water resistance and 25% more breathability than all-season Helly Tech®.

Interface W™ – Soft Shell Technology:
This wind and water resistant, breathable technology for mixed conditions is a soft-textured, stretch-woven fabric that’s perfect for any high-energy activity. Its dynamic stretch and non-bulky shells provide options in layering and increase comfort.

Interface B™
This highly waterproof and breathable technology for mixed conditions is a soft-textured,
stretch-woven fabric that’s perfect for any high-energy activity. Its dynamic stretch and
non-bulky shells provide options in layering and increase comfort.

eVENT® Fabric with Direct Venting Construction
Patented microporous laminate fabric offering higher levels of vapour permeability tan any
other waterproof/breathable fabric. Unlike other breathable film laminates, eVENT® Fabric
retains a completely open pore structure, setting new standards of breathability in
active outdoor garments.

Aqua Shell®:
Replacing non-breathable neoprene skins by providing greater comfort and increased warmth per weight, Aqua Shell combines thermal warmth, four-way stretch breathable fabric and a windproof membrane. Its surface also repels water, making it perfect for watersports.

Footwear

C Zone:
Located underneath the rear foot strike zone, this durable and long-lasting technology
enables the start of a smooth heel to toe transition by absorbing the impact created
with each step taken.

C zone +:
Located underneath the forefoot, this durable and long-lasting technology cushions on
impact while its responsive energy return system helps to propel the user through toe-off.

W2
Utilized in footwear designed for water sports, this water in – water out draining
system is the ultimate provider of water release. W2 technology ensures breathability
and ensures a dry foot.

Storm Grip™:
For superior grip and maximum slip resistance on wet and slippery conditions we offer
Storm Grip™ to help you stay on your feet.  It is made in superior non-marking gum
rubber and performs off shore and on.

Helly Wear:
This footwear technology is provided by the use of durable rubber used in the construction
of the heel strike zone.

LIFA®Versa:
The ultimate Active Single Layer for high-energy sports. Versa has a bi-component knit
to provide rapid moisture transport in one layer. Shoes with this technology possess
great breathability that keeps feet dry, cool and comfortable.

Helly Tech XP:
This technology provides increased waterproofing and breathability that ensures your feet
stay dry and comfortable.

2nd Density:
This technology keeps the foot neutral and stable with a firm EVA material located on the
medial side that prevents pronation (inward roll of foot) and injury.

Flex grooves and Crumple Zones:
This technology consists of strategically placed grooves in the forefoot and heal of the
outsole that allow for a flexible natural ride from heel strike to toe off

Freedom Tech:
This technology is located in the midfoot of the shoe and because of its removal of excess
outsole, reduces shoe weight while allowing a more natural and nimble ride.

EVA Midsole
This technology provides added comfort and support. The EVA Midsole is removable for quick drying and machine washing
