Our 3 layer philosophy Helly Hansen
invented the three-layer system of dressing in the 1970's
and we have perfected it ever since. Layering is about
performing longer and harder. We achieve this by providing
base layers, thermals and outerwear gear that work in
unison to keep users comfortable and dry all day.
- Base layer:
Our LIFA® performance base layers not only insulate
next to the skin, but transport warmth-stealing
perspiration away to the next layer. No other base
layer dries quicker or transports moisture faster.
- Thermal layer:
The thermal layer insulates and transports moisture
from the base layer to the outer layer.
- Protective layer:
The protective layer provides weather protection and
regulates moisture transfer via breathable
fabrications or venting features.
